We write at the level of literary fiction, not interactive prompts. Long sentences when the scene wants them. Short when the room goes quiet.

Yes. StoryStepper is open: begin your story from the web app, answer the setup questions, and continue from the story already begun whenever you return.
How long is a story?+
Up to 21 episodes per story: three seasons of seven episodes. We cap there because we care about you and we won’t pretend otherwise: the prose is written by a language model, and longer arcs are where even the best model can start to lose the thread.
Is anything I read — or write — public?+
No. Stories are private by default. Reading circles are invitation-only. There is no feed, no public profile, no comments wall, and no way to discover other people’s stories.
What does it cost?+
The first two chapters of any story are free. After that, a monthly or yearly subscription unlocks the daily chapter. Embers are separate: our small in-app currency for optional rituals like the character poster and lighting an episode. You get 10 free embers when you sign up, and can buy more if you want them.
Who is writing this?+
A language model writes the prose, guided by editorial rules our writing team built — pacing, continuity, voice, the kind of sentence we would want to read ourselves. We do not hide that it is AI. We try to make it the kind of AI writing you would actually want to read.
